Medical Mask & PPE Donations
Give the gift of Personal Protective Equipment to COVID19 healthcare workers.
Keep our healthcare workers safe as they heal our community.
The Rotary Club of Irvine has reached an agreement with several manufacturers to produce and deliver critical N95 and surgical masks and other in-demand PPE to healthcare workers in our community.
Through our previous community fundraising efforts, our Rotary club is able to fund a substantial portion of the order, but we need your help in bridging the gap. The nurses and doctors in our community are working tirelessly to battle back the COVID19 pandemic from the front lines.
They have saved us, treated our families, and endured great stress to take care of us and our loved ones. Now it’s time for us to step forward, keep them safe, and enable them to serve with the confidence of personal safety.
The Need: Nurses and doctors are subjecting themselves to high risk conditions to care for others, then going home to their spouses and children. Some nurses and doctors are already sick, a few even now struggling to survive on respiratory ventilators. Hospitals in particular are under severe financial strain, not only in sourcing extra medical supplies, but paying substantial overtime to our community’s most essential personnel.
How We All Can Help: Irvine Rotary is ready to source and distribute PPE to hospitals that serve the greater Irvine community and has made arrangements with each hospital foundation to purchase the PPE directly as needed. Presently, hospital beneficiaries include:
- HOAG Hospital – Irvine
- Saddleback Memorial Care
- UCI Medical Center
Other PPE will include hair nets/covers, white head to toe “bunny suits,” shoe covers, gloves, goggles/face shields, and PAPR hoods.
Sponsoring Nurses and Intensive Care Units
We have talked to healthcare workers about the best use of masks during this crisis. Here’s the math on what this order will accomplish and how you can step up with us to address this need.
|1 Nurse||Daily Usage||Weekly Usage||Monthly Usage|
Of course, we want to take care of more than one nurse. Here’s that math again for an ICU staffed with 10 nurses on the COVID19 response team.
|10 Nurses||Shift Usage||Daily Usage||Weekly Usage|
